About Peloton
Our Mission
Purpose & Philosophy
Peloton is a long-running online cycling manager game focused on long-term
team building, strategy, and competition between real players. The game has
always been designed as a gradual, seasonal experience where progress happens
over time and results are earned across multiple seasons.
The goal of the current development is to preserve the original spirit of
Peloton while gradually improving areas that players have historically found
frustrating, especially for newcomers, so that more managers can enjoy and
understand the game without lowering its strategic depth.
Current Team
Development & Management
Peloton is currently developed and maintained by a single person,
sd, who handles all aspects of the project, including
development, technical infrastructure, and game design decisions.

Our History
Origins
Peloton was originally created by Dave Wolles. Special
thanks also go to Reggie Biemans for creating the cyclist,
trainer, and scout faces, and to Lode Vanhove for creating
the original Peloton logo. Thanks to everyone else who contributed to
improving the game over the years. Over time, the game continued to evolve,
building a dedicated community of long-term managers.
Relaunch & Current Development
In September 2025, Peloton was relaunched by the current
owner. The relaunch preserved existing progress for returning players after
almost two years of interruption.
Since then, development has focused primarily on addressing technical debt,
fixing bugs, and stabilizing the platform. Most of this work is not directly
visible to players, but it is essential for ensuring the game can continue to
evolve in a sustainable way.
How the Game Is Played
Season Structure
Peloton is played in seasons that simulate a cycling year. Each season lasts
16 weeks and includes daily races from Tuesday to Sunday,
with Mondays serving as rest days.
Teams compete in divisions, starting from Division 1 as the highest level.
Each division is split into subdivisions. At the end of a season, the best
teams are promoted, except in Division 1, and the weakest teams are
relegated.
Races, Strategy & Progression
Managers select five cyclists per race and define race tactics, including
leaders, attackers, helpers, and sprinters. Points are awarded based on race
results and classifications such as general classification, sprint points,
mountain points, and best young rider.
Progression is gradual, rewarding consistent planning and long-term strategy.
Cyclists improve on a weekly basis, and financial management plays an
important role through salaries, sponsors, and transfers. Building a
competitive team usually takes multiple seasons.
Transfers & Contracts
Cyclists are bound to teams by contracts lasting up to 75 weeks. Managers
must renew contracts to keep riders, or risk losing them. Transfers allow
teams to buy and sell cyclists, adding another strategic layer to long-term
planning.
Fun Races
In addition to competitive races, Peloton features weekly fun races held
every Wednesday. These races do not award points and are intended as a
lighter, experimental part of the game.
Why Play Peloton?
Long-Term Competition
Peloton rewards patience, planning, and consistency. It is especially
appealing to managers who enjoy long-term strategy rather than quick
progression.
Established Community
The game has an experienced and loyal player base, with many managers
competing for years across multiple seasons.
Free & Browser-Based
Peloton is free to play and runs entirely in your browser, without downloads
or installations.
